Get Paid to Share – First $5,000-Prize Competition
I told you about this crazy competition 2 days ago, remember?
Here’s the real deal, so read closely:
I have a little blog competition (the first one of this type) where you could win (if you have a blog of your own) a percent of $5,000 worth of prizes (in cash, products and services)
I call it the Get Paid to Share competition and only blog owners (able to write and recommend my blog) are eligible to enter this competition, but more about it in a minute.
First, let’s reveal what the $5,000 worth of prizes consist in..
#1 Winner gets:
#2 Winner gets:
a free JV with yours truly where I promote your affiliate or Internet Marketing related product or service to my 10k double opt-in lists in exchange for a cut of the sales (I require minimum 25%) – that’s worth $300!
#4 Winner gets:
a free copy of my best-selling Six-Figure Blogging Income Secrets Revealed package worth $95! I give 2 prizes like this – so the total is $190!
#5 Winner gets:
a free 30-minute blog consultation via SKYPE audio (or text) chat system worth $105. You get to pick my brains on anything about blogs and blogging, plus, we’ll review your blog live, on the call and give expert feedback on how to optimize it for maximum profits (priceless).
#6 Winner gets:
Real money – $68.39 paid instantly via PayPal (or Plimus – it takes a few minutes)
I give 3 prizes like this – so the total is $205.17!
There you have it – $5,000 worth of prizes.
Here’s what you have to do in order to be eligible to win any of these prizes:
Write (or create) a blog post, blog review or YouTube video about Codrut Turcanu dot com BLOG.
You can write or say anything about it – something true or not, good or bad, funny or sad, anything.
There’s just one requirement – keep it minimum 3 phrases or 10 seconds if you’re doing a video, and mention Codrut Turcanu dot com blog in it (AND link to my blog via your blog).
The first person who I (and my team) think that created the craziest (not the most original or coolest) blog post, blog review or YouTube video wins.
That’s the first rule.
The second is that you’ll have to post this work of yours on your own blog. You can also add it on Squidoo lens, etc.
So, I’ll pick the winners based on my own judge and the #1 selection criteria is the “craziness” of the idea, not how cool or original your masterpiece will look like.
You have as many chances to qualify for the first prize as the blogger next to you.
So put your “craziness” hat and start writing or creating that video right now. There’s no delaying as we have a deadline!
The competition ends on Sunday, July 01, 2008. That means you’ll have to add your creation on your blog and post the link to it on this blog by the end of July 01, 2008 (right here in this post – see the “Comments” tab, or it won’t get into consideration!)
I guess that’s the 3rd rule
Yes, you’ll have to comment on this blog post (see below) and include the LINK to your blog or squidoo lense right in the comment itself, along with your contact details.. so I can award you the prize asap.
Good luck!
Cheers,

Content is King, Value is The King of the Kings
Whether you’re using AdSense on your site, or promoting other people’s products and services (hint – affiliate marketing), or maybe selling your own stuff, you need to understand that content is KING.
You’ve probably heard this already. But do you know what the “Content is King” concept really means, how, and more importantly, why to use it in your online business?
Also, do you know who is the king of the kings and what “VALUE” really means and how you could apply it in your entire business?
Read further and I’ll share with you all of this, and more, in the next 7 minutes.
First of all, the “Content is King” concept tells that site (or blog) visitors, readers AND buyers appreciate the content way more than advertising. Who wouldn’t right?
Then why 99% of all the marketers, bloggers and site owners out there are focusing on putting advertising (e.g. AdWords) at the top and displaying affiliate links/banners/images all over their sites?
Why don’t they just focus on publishing great content first, while adding advertising below it, or blending the ads/links/images within the content itself?
Let me tell you why – because they’re NOT focusing on the visitor, reader or buyer.
They’re focusing on THEMSELVES! What a selfish thing.. that’s a BIG mistake because they’re losing a great part of their business, get far less potential clients and loyal customers
Here’s how to apply the “Content is King” concept in your own business (and you better do it now, or you’ll lose money every second from now on).
Strategy #1 – spy on what other site owners, bloggers and marketers are writing on their blogs or sites. And come up with better content. You have to be remarkable, or you’re invisible.
How you come up with better content is simple. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just improve on the content which is already there.
FACT – specifics and details sell. Specifics and details boost conversion ratio. Specifics and details attract the eye-balls faster and better than non-specifics and general stuff.
e.g. how would you TWEAK this article title (headline) or blog posting and make it better (hint – remarkable)?
EXAMPLE: How to Make Money with Blogging FAST
Remarkable TWEAK: here’s how I’d do it - Make $300 In 10 Days via Blogging
See what I mean? Study how-to headline copywriting for mastering this SKILL.
Strategy #2 – publish, publish, publish. Make it often, or you won’t get too far!
You have to write. And do it as often as you can. It’s whether article content for your site, blog content (postings) for your blog, or e-mail content writing for your follow-up marketing needs.
That’s what produces you (in) direct income, period (hint – the link goes to a cool PDF report - Time Management Shortcuts for Newbie Affiliates).
I love to create new content, and improve on my competitors’ content too. That’s what I do best. That’s why I’m able to crank one blog post after another, and release a line of new products in 30 days or less (I plan to issue a breakthrough blogging project next month, so stay tuned!).
And I have to confess something myself – if you like writing and publishing content, you’re holding a real fortune within yourself. Your brain along with your (copy)writing skills are two of the most powerful KEY elements which will help you make a small fortune online, without paying for anything in advertising.
If you’re not using your brain, nor are writing content, you have no business!
I know what I’m talking because I use those two crucial elements daily.
Introducing..
The King of the kings – VALUE (or should I say, the Queen?)
Providing people with VALUE is way more valuable than providing them with just content.
You provide value when you write or share content which your visitors, readers or buyers will consume (e.g. read a PDF report, listen to an MP3 poadcast call, or watch a VIDEO tutorial, and so on).
You provide great VALUE when your content is shared by your visitors, readers or buyers to their friends, family, partners, etc., because it was that helpful and/or interesting.
In order for you to provide great VALUE you have to learn your sub-niche target market needs and wants. You have to connect with them on a personal level. You have to ASK them directly. Do surveys, e-mail them. Go into forums.
- See what they see.
- Do what they do.
- Feel what they feel.
- Live what they live.
- Be the visitor, reader, buyer.
Put yourself in their shoes, and think from their perspective.
If there’s one BIG secret of my Internet Success, besides sheer determination and perseverance, I would tell that “putting myself in the shoes of my readers, subscribers and buyers” is the KEY aspect – that’s what made the difference in everything from writing the blog content to releasing articles and creating products!
- I live the market. And I know its ins and outs quite well.
That’s why I’m able to crank top quality content (what you’ve read so far is not even my best work yet, more to come soon!) and release valuable products which really help the buyer.
Remember – do NOT be afraid to write, tweak or share content. That’s what makes the difference between you earning $100 month and $1,000 (or more) per week. Start writing and publishing content, do it now, there’s no waiting!
You have to give, give and give, value is the KEY!
And speaking of content, writing and sharing information. Stay tuned for what’s next..

I have a little blog competition where you could win (if you have a blog of your own) a percent of $5,000 worth of prizes (in cash, products and services)
More details within 2 days.
Before we wrap this up, I want to mention just six bloggers (and blogs) which helped me tremendously (there are many more but I try to keep this post ‘short’ for now).
Without these folks I wouldn’t have blogged today or be where I am at this moment.
Maki at Dosh Dosh because I learned from him that value is KEY and people will read your blog post no matter how lengthy it is, for as long as you publish with passion and provide great content and value.
Rosalind Gardner at NetProfitsToday because she provides new alerts on cool WP plugins and top-notch marketing advice that helped me understand why people buy.
Caroline at Caroline Middlebrook since she taught me how to do blog commenting the SMART way and even managed to run some JVs with her lately..
Daniel at DailyBlogTips because his site motivated me to blog, and learn the A-Z about blogging.
And finally – Darren at ProBlogger.net who referred me to Yaro at BlogTrafficSchool and they both showed me NOT to be an insular blogger and spread the link love.

Blogging Is Not About Blogging
The problem with blogging is that most people have no clue what it really is, or how to use it, or — more importantly — WHY to use it.

What is even more shocking is this:
The question I get asked the most about blogging sounds like..
“Codrut, isn’t blogging too complex for the newbie marketer”?
I like to give two answers to that.
First of all, blogging is EASY, if you know how to do it; you have to keep trying until you learn it (hint – start with the bloggging basics first).
Secondly, blogging is not only for marketers. That’s a myth. Blogging is for anybody who wants to blog for whatever, whether it’s for fun, profit or both.
Yet, blogging is not about blogging, and here’s what I mean with this:
1. Blogging is not about plugins
2. Blogging is not about widgets
3. Blogging is not about RSS
4. Blogging has little to do with the “techie” side of things
5. Blogging has nothing to do with publishing unique, or original CONTENT.
6. Blogging is not about getting more targeted traffic.
Blogging is all about connecting with your readers’ wants and needs.
Blogging is all about understanding your ideal prospect (and not everybody who you think might need your product or service).
Blogging is all about talking with your reader on a personal, one-on-one basis, just like i’m doing with you now.
Blogging is all about treating people (hint – readers and subscribers) in a friendly way which helps both parties advance in knowledge, form a stronger relationship and live happy.
That’s the KEY to remarkable blogging.
Now that you know this, please tell ALL your friends who are blogging (for fun, profit, or maybe both) to head over at Codrut Turcanu dot com blog and read this post.
If you know Darren Rowse from ProBlogger.net, tell him about this too
I’d also like to get Caroline who’s blogging about making a living online, Seth Godin who’s blogging about remarkable marketing, and Brain Clark – the king of copywriting blogging.
I’d also feel happy to get these folks on the blog as well:
Ros at NetProfitsTodays
Michel Fortin, the copywriter whom I’ve learned a ton of cool stuff from.
DoshDosh whos blog I visit frequently and..
Daniel with his DailyBlogTips blog which helped me tremendously in learning more about blogging and blogs than most blogs out there.
Maybe they’re going to argue with me or not. Maybe they’re never going to see my blog. Whatever, I appreciate your and their efforts (and time spent on here).
Here’s another article which might interest you – Why is it that blogging is not about blogging?
And stay tuned for the next posting:
Content is King, Value is The King of the Kings

Yes! Making Money Online Is an Art
Many marketers have the erroneous belief that if they keep advertising online they’re going to make more money. Unfortunately, harder doesn’t necessarily mean better. Here’s a better choice for making money online:
- sell without selling.
I’m not interested if you’re selling other people’s products, promoting adsense, or marketing your own stuff, the same principle applies in all cases.
Here’s what I mean by sell without selling (that’s part of the Art of making money online):
Make friends with your potential customers first. Once you have a friend, it’s much easier to turn him into a customer (e.g. get him buy from you, and in most cases, he’ll do it again, and again..)
I want you imagine this (and I can’t be more serious than that)
Do you remember when was the last time you convinced (sold) one of your friends to watch a movie or buy a cd? Did you try any tricky advertising tactics to get him watch the movie or buy the cd?
I don’t think so. Then why do you think he took you on your recommendation?
Because the movie or cd was that good?
Because the movie or cd was low-cost?
Or is it because YOU recommended to him/her?
I think the last option applies here. And the same situation applies when you’re making money online.
- You’re not advertising. You’re not marketing. You’re not promoting. You’re selling without selling.
Making money online is not about shooting in the dark (promoting anything to anyone, e.g. using the shotgun approach)
Making money online is not about promoting the latest big things.
Making money online is not about having big opt-in lists.
Making money online is an art, period.
It takes serious investment like time, practice, effort and money.
Plus sheer determination and perseverance.
Making money online is all about doing it (hint – I love Nike’s slogan – “Just do it!”)
Making money online is all about practising.
Making money online is all about testing and tweaking your marketing strategies.
Making money online is all about connecting with people and making friends. The more, the better.
Yes! Making Money Online Is an Art. I’ve said it. Could you prove me wrong?
