Well, Christmas time has been and gone. I got a new shorter belt among my gifts to celebrate my thinning waist. However I challenged that a bit with calorie consumption, and less than usual walking for the day yesterday.
Gifts as well included a box of candy and a fifth of Scotch, both of which I will consume, however slowly and most significantly, with a correct recording of the calories on my everyday journal. I strictly believe you can eat anything you want, so long as your record the calories.
Joan, as always, produced more food than even our crowd could eat, therefore the fridge is filled with left overs. Some landmines hidden in there along with some fruit and salad items which are on the more virtuous path.
Again the answer is to have cleverly and keep count of calories. We allowed a little of a blowout yesterday, and the hormonal response to the feast may have elevated our metabolism which can be a good thing, if we close down the intake today and stay on track at least till New Year's eve.
Now a week away is the next occasion, New Years Eve and day. This might well be a repeat for many people. Which makes the intervening week all the more essential to button down the hatches, and get back on program.
It is as well time to start considering the new year. New Year's resolutions are notorious for getting made and forgotten. That doesn't mean your resolution needs to be terminated as unlikely to succeed. It's yours to make, and yours to keep. And you could make it work.
