Blogging Is Not About Blogging

The problem with blogging is that most people have no clue what it really is, or how to use it, or — more importantly — WHY to use it.

What is even more shocking is this:

The question I get asked the most about blogging sounds like..

“Codrut, isn’t blogging too complex for the newbie marketer”?

I like to give two answers to that.

First of all, blogging is EASY, if you know how to do it; you have to keep trying until you learn it (hint – start with the bloggging basics first).

Secondly, blogging is not only for marketers. That’s a myth. Blogging is for anybody who wants to blog for whatever, whether it’s for fun, profit or both.

Yet, blogging is not about blogging, and here’s what I mean with this:

1. Blogging is not about plugins

2. Blogging is not about widgets

3. Blogging is not about RSS

4. Blogging has little to do with the “techie” side of things

5. Blogging has nothing to do with publishing unique, or original CONTENT.

6. Blogging is not about getting more targeted traffic.

Blogging is all about connecting with your readers’ wants and needs.

Blogging is all about understanding your ideal prospect (and not everybody who you think might need your product or service).

Blogging is all about talking with your reader on a personal, one-on-one basis, just like i’m doing with you now.

Blogging is all about treating people (hint – readers and subscribers) in a friendly way which helps both parties advance in knowledge, form a stronger relationship and live happy.

That’s the KEY to remarkable blogging.

Now that you know this, please tell ALL your friends who are blogging (for fun, profit, or maybe both) to head over at Codrut Turcanu dot com blog and read this post.

If you know Darren Rowse from ProBlogger.net, tell him about this too :)

I’d also like to get Caroline who’s blogging about making a living online, Seth Godin who’s blogging about remarkable marketing, and Brain Clark – the king of copywriting blogging.

I’d also feel happy to get these folks on the blog as well:

Ros at NetProfitsTodays

Michel Fortin, the copywriter whom I’ve learned a ton of cool stuff from.

DoshDosh whos blog I visit frequently and..

Daniel with his DailyBlogTips blog which helped me tremendously in learning more about blogging and blogs than most blogs out there.

Maybe they’re going to argue with me or not. Maybe they’re never going to see my blog. Whatever, I appreciate your and their efforts (and time spent on here).
