Shocking Yet True – Geeks Get It, Marketers Not
I wonder why most geeks understand the importance of customer relationship and how to sell online (without selling), while marketers don’t.
While browsing through the blogosphere I have found this cool post by a fellow (geek) blogger:
- “Marketing Is About Communication, Not Self-Promotion“, an article in which Scott Allen discusses the mistake companies (and individuals) are making when selling people stuff on the Internet and in the real world.
The article got 16 sphinns so far so I guess it’s worth to take a look at, right away.
Now, here’s my take on this, so drop what you’re doing now and pay close attention to this as you’re going to learn a thing or two about making money online, the smart way:
I’ve always been impressed with those who could sell without pushing the product in my face. It never came easy to me and I have marveled many times when others seem to sell without actually selling. Then, I figured out their secret..
- They connect with the prospect and the client on a personal level (one-on-one relationship and e-mail follow-up is KEY in today’s business world)
- They are experts at delivering great value and charging accordingly (“me too” companies or products have no chance to compete with remarkable products or companies) and wow customers, over and over gain.
- They value the customer more than the money and they know customer communication is the core basis of their business (profits will follow if you FOCUS on providing real social value)
If there’s one last tip I could give you for today: read this article again, and let it sink in.
