How to Create a Profit-Pulling Internet Business Plan for 2010

I’ve analyzed the entire year of 2009 for my Internet business and come up with 5 practical ideas which I think will help you create a profit-pulling Internet business plan for 2010 too…
1. Read less, write more
This year I’ve been reading almost daily, from emails, articles, blog posts and book chapters.
80% of my time was spent on reading, instead of writing.
2. Read less, do more
Since I was left with only 20% for actually taking action on my business tasks, my income has suffered massively.
Next year I’ll turn the concept upside down.
80% – take action
20% – reading/learning new stuff
3. Read less, listen more
You won’t believe how important is to listen to people, listen to what they share with you in the forums, on blogs, in the email.
Listening is more important than anything else…
4. Look-out for the big problems
Great products/services thrive because they’re built on solving people’s most pressing problems.
Next year I plan to release just a few PDF reports and trainings, mainly in the affiliate marketing arena, which helps serious people advance their Internet venture.
I’ll be focusing more on providing services though. I’m talking about custom blog install, email consulting and coaching, just to name a few.
5. Analyze your competitors
Regardless you’re just an affiliate marketer or product owner, you need to analyze your competitors. Watch what they do, how they do it, and more importantly WHY they’re doing it…
You’ll learn tremendous things just by analyzing your competitors, instead of doing what they’re saying…

I think you’re right on track. I have a lot of the same feelings about spending to much time on learning and not enough time on doing.
That would be one of my main goals this year.

Exactly. I think this is one of the reason why most of the newbies fail in the internet marketing because of the information overload. They just keep on reading about all these different methods of making money online and keep running after these shiny objects everyday that they just don’t get the time to follow any of these plans. I am also one of them but now I know what it takes to succeed online and I will make sure to spend my time in doing stuff that build a business instead of just reading and reading.

My problem is staying on task. While researching something, I get soooo sidetracked. I love knowledge so I have to investigate everything. Before I know it, I’ve gained a lot of information, but have put very little of it into action. And like you, I also need to spend more time writing.

Taking ACTION, and DOING what we already know that works..
is THE most important thing we can do in order to make a great positive impact on our income… It’s the only way to gain legitimate experience..
and to start seeing results to improve upon..

You’ve hit the nail on the head there Codrut. I know that I read a lot in the beginning when I first went online but you do need a certain amount of background knowledge before you can make a start. The danger of course is that many never make a start.
My plans are to get out of my comfort zone and try out one or two new ways of driving traffic to my sites until I have it down to a fine art.
I had an amazing personal connection to your post, Codrut – 2009 was my year for studying, reading, listening, etc. and I had already resolved to begin moving forward into “take action” steps.
For instance, you have encouraged me to start power-blog commenting and learning how to begin building business connections.
My blogsite continues to need some serious design attention – but it’s up and running! And I am “on the lookout” as you say, for the big problems people want to have solved.

A person who is new to the field requires more reading and learning. Every person needs to balance between new learning and action.
I think all of us fall into this trap where we believe we are moving forward but in reality we are spinning our wheels. This new year 2010 is a grand opportunity to check ourselves every day and to make sure that we really, truly are moving forward. I wish everyone great success!
I have good experience about blog but still now i can’t gain any thing ,i hope the blog be my work
I’m not sure how to draw traffic but I’m learning. And I must say I most diffidently spend more time reading than writing. I usually have some many email’s sometimes I don’t no where to start. But I starting to set some things in action, like on read all of my mail, Saturday do some writing, Sunday’s do comment something to that nature. There’s so much to learn being a newbie and before I knew it my site has been going no were. So its time to action. I do agree with everyone that has posted. Thanks
You are right Codrut to certain extent. Knowledge and actions both are two sides of the business. In this era of knowledge overload people become so much greedy to assimilate the knowledge that they lose the actual track, they were supposed to move on. This becomes painful to us. This is happening with every one of us to some degree.
If I devote my 50% time in action and rest 50% in reading, listening, analyzing the failures, that will surely lead me to the path of success. Wish you all a very happy new year 2010.

#Sparya: I noticed that what I say is not necessarily true. Like for e.g. if I decide to devote 50% of my time reading, and 50% to taking action, I might notice that I’d spend just 30% time taking action and the rest doing useless stuff which is not helping my business progress… that’s why I make sure I stick with the 80% – 20% rule… at least, I’d get around 60% of action
My goal for 2010 is to get something going….Internet Marketing wise.
A lot of people spend too much time making sure they will have everything in order before they get started. The only problem is that getting everything in order is impossible. If it takes you too much time to get things in order and you read a lot you will keep changing your plan.
I call this Analysis Paralysis

yeah you’re right Codrut! It’s happened to me, I spent my time on reading my email that offering me to make money online. I read whole my email from they call “guru”. I’m just learning and learning but only a little trying. I hope in 2010 I have finished create my own website that make me a succes internet marketer..

You have stolen my New Year’s resolutions!
I sat down today and immediately started looking at email. Then I quickly said NO and stopped. I knew the 3 most important things I needed to do today to make money online, so I started on #1. It is now 3 hours later. I have now finished #1 and #2. I am cheating even to look at your email at this point, but I am on a break for dinner. When I finish dinner, I am going to go straight to #3 instead of spending who knows how long reading 200+ emails before doing something that will make me money.
Too often we let those who send us email control how we spend our time. Unless we are waiting on for important information from someone, we should not be reading emails from anyone until we have completed at least the top 3 tasks we know we need to do today to move forward.
I also agree that most of us don’t need more information as much as we need to take action on the information we already. For 2010 let’s stick to the Pareto Principle. Most of us spend 80% of our time on things that are easy or fun or clerical and 20% of our time on what we need to do to make money online.
If we are using the Internet for fun, that’s fine. Nobody has enough time, whether they are on the Internet part-time or full-time. If we really want to make money, let’s shift that and spend 80% of our time on what makes money. Then we might have more money to spend on the fun stuff.
I’ve spent too much time reading and not committing to action this year, too. I often find myself analyzing too much due my perfectionism, so just as you have, Codrut, I’m making a new year resolution to committ to more action and less reading. I know this won’t change overnight, but I’ll take small steps.
