Is Blogging the Real-Deal?
Some people say blogging is Internet’s holly grail. Others don’t understand the phenomenon and have no plans to get on the bandwagon.
For me, personally, blogging is a way to make a living online. I started blogging back in 2006, when I firstly launched my first monthly club. Made about 3k in 72 hours [as I recall].
What about you? Is blogging the real-deal? Or just a fad?
Well, I’m just rebuilding my blog but I sure hope it’s the “Real Deal”. It’s a great vehicle to connect to everything. I know I have a long way to go but it’s a start.
Cheers!

Yes, it is the real deal. I like to read other perspectives about life, politics, world governments, and ’cause I want to know what is making the world tick through other peoples’ minds.

Hi Codrut. As i have only just started blogging four months ago its hard to say if its the real deal or a fad. I like blogging though and only time will tell if my blog becomes a success or not. Content is king and all that jazz! From what i have learned is, as long as you post truthful and helpful posts, you will get readers who may in turn become a customer of your business.

Hi Condrut,
I have read almost all your blogs and still reading them. I have had blogs since about 3 years now and just started enjoying posting new content in my blog. I cannot still monetize my blogs and that’s what I really want. There joy in blogging with or without money. The exchange of views and reviews that I read each week gives me ideas for further blog.
keep it up

Blogging does not become real deal until you blog seriously and regularly. I have many blogs that are lying in dust in want of regular posts. They do not generate any revenue.
I do make money from my regular blogs.
Blog is just a medium. Its you who need to deliver.

Hi Codrut ! Thanks.
I tend to think like this …An organic blot viz no made-up, no ferts., no pesticides – just real and natural growth. Which I think shall be full of energy and value to the readers. Allow to mature and then monetize the manner one fieels like.
How is that ??

It’s much easier to build a relationship with your readers with a blog than a website. They can be so much more interactive and fun. If you want to monetize your blog you must have a good relationship with your readers/list and of course traffic. I gave up my website years ago in favor of several blogs. It’s the real deal alright!

I really can’t tell if blogging is the real deal or not. But having said that, it is still one of the best medium to build credibility and trust. If you are really good in what you blog about it will show and people will reward you. But for a newbie who is desperate for cash, i doubt if it is the right path to tread on because the monetary aspect of blogging is not instantenous, it surely takes time to generate cash with blogs because it sure takes time to build trust. Be that as it may, blogging is fun especially when your blog is centred around your passion.

Blogs can be real deal or fad only. It all depends upon how seriously one takes it up. Blog is a very effective medium of communicating your views to the others. One has to be serious, consistent and to the point to do wonders in marketing through blogs. Codrut, I feel for serious marketers blogs are real deal.

Hello Codrut.
In my opinion, blogging is not the holy grail when it comes to making a living online. While blogging should be an important part of your overall marketing strategy, it is by no means the only avenue to pursue if you plan on a high level of success. You also need to let people know your blog exists or no one will visit. How do you do that? You can do it several ways. You can post comments in forums, Yahoo Answers, contribute at social networking sites, article writing and several other ways. Yes, blogging is important, but without the other working parts to an overall strategy, a blog is like any other website that no one knows about, devoid of traffic and completely useless.

I hear alot people talk about blogging, so now it has peeked my interest. However I am new on the scene and I have not done any kind of blogging as yet. So I don’t know how much of a real deal it is. However it looks like it should be a real deal. I also like to read and hear what other people have on their mind.

Blogging is an important part of an online income. I have been in numerous marking ventures online and web 2.0 is here for now and if you want to make money online a blog needs to be a part of your strategy. It is so easy to use wordpress as an example to get a site up and running and with all the available plugins anyone can get started with a little coaching. There is a lot more you can do to make money with a blog but I can’t give away the secrets…. Happy blogging in the New Year!!!
PS: Codrut, great looking site. A good example of a professional looking and operational blog. Thanks!

I think that blogging can be the real deal for the right people! For the people who are committed to making it work, then it can definitely work for them. However if you do not put in the effort it is like anything, you will not succeed.
