Can I host the blog myself?
Yes, for as long as your web host accepts wordpress one-click installation [fantastico enabled], otherwise I'll host the blog on my web host [DREAMHOST]
Can I move my blogspot blog content over to this newly created wordpress blog? Yes. It shouldn't be a problem. I'll import your blogger [blogspot] content over the new blog I'll setup for you... it takes me just a few hours!... the custom coding or plugin changes you performed on your blogger blog would probably won't work for the new blog since there's a new platform, with new plugins, and placed on a new host. In order to use the importer, you must have a Google account and an upgraded (New, was Beta) blog hosted on blogspot.com or a custom domain (not FTP). What happens once I get the blog up and running? Nothing. It'll start spitting cash at you within 48 hours... just kidding! You'd do what you're supposed to do when someone handles you the keys to a brand-new LEXUS... you drive it [and occasionally add gas to it] and make your life simpler, better, easier... Once your blog is ready, you'll be the one to add new content and drive traffic to it on a regular basis. Warning - you'd need to put in the time, effort and passion to make it work.
