I know this has been touched on before, and often the answer is "Dont go with a free service, get your own hosting and use Wordpress"

BUT

If you cant afford hosting, then what is the very best free blogging service? and why?

Hey... would you buy a car if you know you can't afford gas?

Would you get into an online business if you know you can't afford a hosting account?

I guess most people neglect the basics, and that's why they're failing.

The best free blogging platform is www.Blogger.com , but it's the worst since you're dependant on Google.

If you don't want to use WordPress, probably the next best bet
is blogger.com. The reason many people like Blogger is because:

It is very easy to use (you can set up a blog in about 5 minutes),
It is FREE and you don't have to pay for hosting and most importantly...
It is owned by Google.

Many of the experts believe that Google favors Blogger
and send their googlebots there on a regular basis.
This helps you to get indexed quickly in the search engines.

Just don't do anything that Google finds objectionable or they will
take your Blogger account down in a micro-second.
